Today, on the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Supreme Court announced its decision regarding Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health and overturned almost 50 years of Roe v. Wade.
Given recent warnings from the Department of Homeland Security, we ask Pastors and Administrators to remain vigilant and take all possible steps to ensure the safety and security of all facilities and personnel, including clergy. Please call your local law enforcement immediately to ensure they are aware of the heightened threat that you face today, tonight, and this weekend. Federal law enforcement has repeatedly expressed grave concern that the violence we have already seen will escalate further. An anarcho-terrorist organization has called for a "night of rage" beginning at 8 p.m. tonight. Please consider arranging for security at masses this weekend and ensure that any security systems are fully operational. If your parishes have outdoor lights, keep them on overnight. Report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately. Please see helpful hints provided by our insurance provider attached and contact Risk Manager, Elise Ferguson, at [email protected] for further assistance.
